Dodge has made no significant changes to the new 2024 edition, but customers do have the choice between two different powertrains: a gas-only engine on the Hornet GT and a plug-in electric hybrid engine on the Hornet R/T.

With its 2.0-liter turbocharged engine paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system, the gas-only Dodge Hornet generates 268 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque for exceptional athletic performance and top speeds up to 140 MPH. Torque vectoring technology, which improves grip by dynamically adjusting power to the individual wheels, is standard. A KONI frequency selective dampening suspension is also part of the standard equipment set.
The Hornet R/T features a 1.3-liter turbocharged hybrid engine that boasts up to 288 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque for zero to 60 MPH acceleration in only 5.6 seconds. With the ability to switch effortlessly between gas and electric, it has 32 miles of all-electric range and 360 miles of total range (although the premium R/T Plus trim only has a total range of 320 miles). Aluminum paddle shifters on the steering column have a PowerShot feature that enables an extra 30 horsepower for up to 15 seconds. Four-piston Brembo fixed caliper brakes provide excellent stopping power as well.

The exterior of the Dodge Hornet features LED headlights and signature daytime running lights, a stylish black grille, and an integrated turn signal indicator in the side mirrors. The cabin features dual-zone front air conditioning, a six-speaker audio system, a 12-volt AC power outlet, cargo tie-down points, and six-way front seats. Both cloth and leatherette materials line the seating surfaces for extra comfort. The default seating configuration offers a generous cargo volume of 27 cubic feet, but with rear seats folded down, it can expand to 55 cubic feet of cargo space.
